Joseph Crayton – Managing General Partner
Mr. Joseph Crayton is a seasoned finance executive and banker with over 25 years of experience in banking, venture finance, entrepreneurship, and consulting across the US and West Africa. A co-founder of the highly successful Square 1 Bank, where he held leadership roles and played a key part in its growth to a NASDAQ-listed institution. Mr. Crayton brings deep expertise in deal sourcing, fund operations, risk management, and strategic alignment for ventures and investors. His experience includes funding several hundred companies, managing significant asset portfolios, and successfully navigating business challenges.
Beyond his banking career, Mr. Crayton has advised the Liberian government on financial policy and has invested in several Liberian businesses, demonstrating a strong commitment to the region’s economic development. He holds an M.B.A. from the University of Maryland and a B.A. in Economics from San Francisco State University.
Owen Harmon – General Partner
Mr. Owen Harmon, Head of Operations in Sierra Leone for Gemini Capital Partners (GCP), is a finance and investment professional with 20 years of diverse experience across business sectors in the US and Liberia. Mr. Harmon is an entrepreneur and former COO for Alternative Enterprises International Inc., where he contributed to agricultural investment decisions. Additionally, he excelled as a Business Development Specialist at Barclays Global Investors, generating over $40 Million in new revenue.
Mr. Harmon’s background includes CFO roles and significant non-profit involvement as a founding member and Treasurer of Each Child Counts Foundations, dedicated to supporting children in Liberia. Holding a B.A. in Accounting and an M.B.A. with Honors from Indiana Wesleyan University, along with FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses, Mr. Harmon is now focused on identifying and cultivating growth opportunities for GCP in Sierra Leone.
Adrian Wilson – Venture Partner
Mr. Adrian Wilson is a senior executive with over 30 years of experience in venture capital, entrepreneurship, and law. His focus at GCP includes investment review, Fund governance, and operations. Mr. Wilson co-founded and led Airwavz Solutions, a wireless infrastructure company, and previously founded Square 1 Ventures, a top-performing venture fund-of-funds. Additionally, he managed two early-stage technology venture capital funds. With over 13 years as a practicing attorney specializing in investment transactions – M&A and corporate governance – Mr. Wilson brings significant legal and business acumen. He has served on numerous boards and holds a J.D. and M.B.A. from the University of North Carolina and a B.A from Davidson College.
